Context and evidence

BCH-1 wants to build useful, sustained relationships with institutions that hold Bitcoin Cash or have a credible interest in its ecosystem. This begins with the existing mF International (MFI) contact reported by the proposer, regular updates on BCH developments, and research to identify other suitable institutional contacts.

Institutional holdings, public support for BCH and willingness to engage are different signals. A researched target map and direct conversations are needed to understand each institution's mandate, interests, questions and concerns. A public holding alone should not be described as an endorsement or partnership.

Proposed approach and scope

Purpose and initial target

Establish and maintain an initial group of 3–5 substantive institutional relationships, building on the existing MFI contact. Include Digital Asset Treasury (DAT) companies, institutions holding BCH and other institutions with evidence of interest in BCH. A substantive relationship means a relevant person has engaged in a two-way exchange and a useful follow-up or continuing communication route has been identified.

Maintain the MFI relationship

Provide regular, sourced updates about BCH technology, developers, infrastructure, projects and adoption, tailored to the contact's interests. Agree a practical communication cadence and record questions and follow-ups. The existing contact is an owner-reported starting point, not a claim that MFI has agreed to a formal BCH-1 partnership.

Research and qualify institutions

Identify candidate institutions and verify their stated mandate, BCH holdings or other relevant interests against company disclosures and primary sources. Find appropriate decision-makers and contact routes. Record evidence separately for holding BCH, being receptive to BCH and actively supporting the ecosystem. Unverified or unknown positions remain explicit; do not label institutions as BCH-friendly without supporting evidence.

Establish contact and learn their needs

Approach suitable contacts with relevant information. Learn what they think of BCH, what they need to understand, what obstacles they see and whether they want further contact. Maintain a contact and follow-up register, recording the source and date of each assessment. Public reporting should summarize useful findings without publishing private correspondence or personal contact details.

Connect interest with BCH expertise

Where an institution expresses a relevant need, BCH-1 can introduce BCH developers, researchers, infrastructure teams, entrepreneurs and other suitable talent. Match introductions to the institution's expressed interests and the willingness of the people involved. Track introductions and follow-up without implying an agreed commercial partnership.

An institution may choose to build a product, invest in a BCH business or explore another commercial activity. BCH-1's role under this proposal is maintaining the relationship, sharing developments and connecting it with relevant people. Product concepts, development, investments, hiring and commercial terms are decided by the institution and the people or businesses it engages.

Research context

Company disclosures provide examples of DATs pursuing operating or ecosystem activities alongside holdings. MFI has discussed BCH mining and a planned digital-asset insurance business. Sharplink has announced an Ethereum onchain investment initiative with Galaxy, while DeFi Development Corp describes Solana infrastructure, partnerships and investments. These are company-reported examples, not evidence of guaranteed shareholder returns, and their interest in BCH must not be assumed. BCH opportunities require their own assessment.

Relationship to other BCH-1 work

Use the evidence and materials available from CFP-001 when relevant, without making this relationship programme depend on that report's completion. Questions received from institutions can help identify gaps for future BCH research.

How does this benefit Bitcoin Cash?

Give institutions a reliable route to relevant BCH information and people. Regular communication can improve understanding of BCH developments, expose institutional requirements and objections, and make it easier for interested institutions to find appropriate ecosystem talent. Commercial collaborations may emerge from these relationships, but an introduction does not itself establish investment, adoption or a partnership.

Expected outcomes and evaluation

Proposed outputs are a sourced institutional target map, a working contact and follow-up register, regular BCH updates, a record of relevant talent introductions and a public summary of engagement and lessons with private information removed.

Aim for 3–5 substantive two-way institutional relationships. Assess relevance of the contacts, quality of engagement, usefulness of updates, expressed interests or concerns, agreed follow-ups and introductions made with the participants' agreement. Distinguish the existing MFI contact from newly established relationships. Record attempts, responses and reasons for any shortfall transparently; research must confirm a realistic timeframe and acceptance criteria.

Product launches, investment commitments and share-price performance are possible external developments to observe, not deliverables BCH-1 can promise under this relationship programme.

Open questions and research needs

  • Which institutions hold BCH, show documented interest or have a mandate that makes a conversation relevant?
  • What evidence supports a receptive or supportive assessment, and what remains unknown until direct contact?
  • Which decision-makers and contact routes are appropriate, and what information do they want from BCH-1?
  • What topics and update cadence would best serve the existing MFI contact and other institutions?
  • What is a realistic timeframe and outreach pool for an initial 3–5 substantive relationships?
  • Which BCH developers, researchers, businesses and infrastructure teams are willing to receive relevant introductions?
  • Who will coordinate relationships, verify updates, maintain records and accept the work?
  • Which information can be reported publicly, and which correspondence and contact details must remain private?
  • What initial operating period, budget and payment conditions are appropriate, and how should continuation be reviewed?

Delivery plan

milestones

Driver details: BCH-1 coordinates institutional relationships and relevant talent introductions. The accountable relationship lead, research and communications contributors, and acceptance reviewer are to be confirmed during research. No external institution or developer is appointed or committed by this proposal.

The proposed checkpoints describe an initial relationship-building cycle. Research will establish the operating period, update cadence, accountable people, acceptance criteria, budget and continuation review. Delivery acceptance and payment conditions are separate; a checkpoint need not carry its own payment. No dates, amounts or payment split are approved at submission.

Institutional target map and relationship plan

Research suitable institutions, relevant people, evidence of BCH interest and an achievable initial engagement plan.

Delivery criteria: A sourced candidate map and proposed outreach, update and reporting approach are documented for review.

MFI updates and initial institutional engagement

Maintain the existing MFI relationship, prepare relevant updates and establish two-way contact with qualified institutions.

Delivery criteria: Engagement and follow-ups are documented against the agreed initial 3–5 relationship target, with existing contacts, new contacts and any shortfall clearly distinguished.

Relevant BCH talent introductions and follow-up

Connect expressed institutional needs with willing BCH developers, researchers, businesses or infrastructure teams.

Delivery criteria: Relevant introduction opportunities and participant agreement are documented; completed introductions and follow-up are recorded, including where no suitable match was found.

Relationship review and continuation recommendation

Summarize engagement quality, useful updates, institutional views, introductions and lessons from the initial cycle.

Delivery criteria: A public summary with private information removed and a reasoned continuation recommendation are available for review.

Research confirms the delivery plan and costs.
