Contents1 - About Me & Proof of Work2 - Platinum Esports and Backstory3 - Phase 0 - Fundraiser4 - Phase 1 - CSLAN 3 in Chicago5 - Phase 2 - AFoG Exhibition6 - Phase 3 - Possible partnership7 - Get Involved1 - About Me & Proof of WorkMy name is David Shattuck. I was a BTC enthusiast from 2013-2017 but I switched to BCH on day 1 and have been active in this community ever since.I'm the creator of both A Fifth of Gaming (a video game tournament platform that runs exclusively on BCH) and BitcoinCashClient (the nuget library enabling BCH payments that AFoG uses to talk to the blockchain).I've made guest appearances on the Bitcoin Cash Podcast (twice) and Being Built talking about AFoG:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yadskoNfbwIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDFdSPGvnX0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3iXgm-0GikI also popped up at BCH Bliss 1 and 2:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cn4dcdN7d4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TIxkLJvR3QI am an enthusiast for on-boarding new users to BCH and have a documented public history of doing so:https://youtu.be/lOinyikpaZI?t=3038https://x.com/davidshattuck8/status/1919489892989714575https://x.com/davidshattuck8/status/1750620478845108280https://x.com/davidshattuck8/status/1818061220718555624AFoG is my favorite medium to reach out to other communities (gamers) to introduce them to BCH in a fun way. It is not possible to play in an AFoG tournament without providing a BCH address for your winnings to be sent to, and players coming from outside the BCH world cannot provide an address without creating a wallet. AFoG has run hundreds of tournaments for thousands of registrants and paid out more than 33 BCH while sending or receiving ~5800 BCH transactions over the past 2 years. It has hosted events for a diversity of games including Magic: The Gathering, Starcraft 2, Street Fighter II, and Chess, with the large portion of payouts going to people who have never used BCH before (when MTGA players and BCH enthusiasts play competitive Magic, the MTGA players tend to take home the prizes):https://afifthofgaming.com/Session/Detail/1167https://afifthofgaming.com/Session/Detail/914https://afifthofgaming.com/Session/Detail/1483https://afifthofgaming.com/Session/Detail/1136We have an opportunity here to introduce a new community to BCH, make some new gamer friends, and watch some next level StarCraft action.I can be contacted directly via X - @davidshattuck82 - Platinum Esports and BackstoryPlatinum Esports is a gaming community built around StarCraft: Brood War, Starcraft 2, and Tekken 8. They have a calendar of mostly self-funded tournaments ranging from minor monthly events to qualifiers to major once-per-year championships. They stream their events (twitch.tv/PlatEsports) complete with live commentary and seem to have an active and enthusiastic community.I was introduced to Airn, one of their principle organizers, by Jerry Qian of OPTN Labs and Bitcoin Bay. My conversation with Airn was the catalyst for this fundraiser and he and I are both on-board with the plan sketched out here.3 - Phase 0 - FundraiserWe're asking the BCH community for 2 BCH. If this campaign is successful, the funds will go to two places:First, $350 worth of BCH will be put into AnyHedge using BCH Bull to stabilize its value against the dollar for a couple of months. After which it will be used in Phase 1 below.Second, the remaining BCH will be put into the vault of Power Overwhelming (the Starcraft 2 AFoG guild created by me and Jeremy of the Bitcoin Cash Podcast back in Oct 2023). Those funds will be used in phases 2 and 3 below.4 - Phase 1 - CSLAN 3 in ChicagoOne of the premier events of Platinum Esports is their annual Chat StarLAN event. The 2025 edition of CSLAN is taking place in Chicago in August. Not only is this an in-person LAN party, it's also the championship round of their CSLPRO Starcraft Remastered series. Players compete in monthly and quarterly qualifiers throughout the season to score points and earn a spot at this major event. If this fundraiser is successful, AFoG (and specifically the exhibition discussed below) will become a sponsor of that event, paying out $350 worth of BCH to the 5th-8th place finishers. In addition to having the opportunity to remix the legendary Bitcoin/Starcraft meme, we will also receive some logo placements and on-stream shoutouts inviting players and viewers to participate in the exhibition event. Airn has even agreed to "adopt" the event as his own, meaning he will be the official organizer, defining the rules, helping to promote it, and streaming it like any of their other events.5 - Phase 2 - AFoG ExhibitionOnce Phase 0 is completed, I will coordinate with both Airn and the primary Starcraft enthusiasts in the BCH community to find a spot on the calendar sometime in Q4 2025 for a Starcraft 2 exhibition tournament. This event will be run entirely on AFoG using the funds from Phase 0. We will be coordinating with Airn to answer any questions and provide whatever help is required to get interested members of his community set up on AFoG and registered for the event. The prize pool will be funded by this campaign and any other sponsorships that materialize between now and then, and we will also be promoting it in the BCH gaming community. This exhibition represents an opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of both AFoG and BCH to a group of people who have never seen them before as well as make some new Starcraft friends and watching some excellent SC2 play!6 - Phase 3 - Possible partnershipThere is a possibility (no guarantees of any kind by anyone) that this sponsorship and exhibition will be the beginning of a new partnership between Platinum Esports and the BCH community via AFoG. If their experience is a good one they might very well migrate their tournament activity for all their games entirely to AFoG. They would benefit from the sponsorships (plus there will be some leftover funds in the vault for additional events) and BCH enthusiasts are always happy for opportunities to tip some sats into the newly created wallet of someone who has never tried BCH before. Everybody wins!7 - Get InvolvedYou can participate in the ongoing conversation about this project in the BCH Gamers telegram channel here:t.me/BCHGamersIf you have a logo you want to slap onto the AFoG exhibition event(s), create a Sponsor on AFoG and then a Sponsorship for Power Overwhelming. Any funds you send to that sponsorship address will contribute directly to the guild's vault and your logo will appear on their events (more contribution = bigger logo)afifthofgaming.com/Sponsor/CreateIf you want to just drop a coin into the guilds vault anonymously, use this address. Any funds sent here will be counted as a donation from "The BCH Community" and used to fund the prize pools of their future events:bitcoincash:qpeea2k8udw2e5pzlejshqr5pk04zdnnlsfxte2gdp
