Funding the Faucet (recreated)
Current Gamebugs.cash is a browser-based multiplayer strategy game that doubles as a BCH faucet. You can play it in chrome browser directly on your phone or PC at bugs.cash.The game currently supports up to 8 players per instance. BCH drops appear inside the game world, and players can collect them. If you make it to “Monster Mode,” you can cash out your accumulated BCH.I launched the game in March, and since then I’ve been steadily improving it: fixing bugs, refining “Monster Mode,” and adding items that make the game replayable and fun. Some players have already proven to be very loyal, showing consistent activity. Even with little advertising so far, there’s already a small but dedicated community, and with more exposure I believe the player base can grow significantly.bugs.cash works as both entertainment and education: players outside the crypto space can encounter BCH in a fun and approachable way, while the faucet helps spread awareness and incentivizes exploration of the broader BCH ecosystem.Funding the FaucetThe purpose of this campaign is simple: funding the faucet.Every BCH donated here goes directly to the faucet reserve address. I will steadily load funds into the faucet at a rate of 0.04–0.08 BCH per week until the reserve is used up. This will make these funds last atleast 1 year and up to two years. This ensures a steady flow of rewards for players, rather than one-time large injections. The faucet address to which the funds will be loaded is bitcoincash:qphh2t0dlx0hhfrcsw39xrrd9ywmswy8fgl5ztl4zf. Any additional funds raised will simply also go towards the faucet spread to last atleast a year and 2 years max.Funding the faucet serves two purposes:Player rewards – keeping the game exciting and worthwhile for players who invest time into it.Advertising – free BCH attracts players, spreading awareness of both the game and Bitcoin Cash itself. So in practice, faucet funding works as both community outreach and organic transaction generation on the BCH network.I’ve funded the faucet myself up to now and received some direct contributions from community members, but this structured campaign makes it easier to sustain momentum.ChartsIn the above chart it can be seen that players are getting better at the game and achieving higher scores on average.(I currently have a smaller but more dedicated player base than at launch)Above can be seen the total amount of bch earned by players. Note that the payouts per score (rating) have been tweaked after launch, it was way to high at the start. The faucet also does not necessarily have funds at a given time. So earnings would be higher if the faucet was funded. Also note that unclaimed earnings are automatically recycled to the faucet at the end of the month, so not all earnings are claimed. The above chart shows average player activity during a week (since March) counted in 1 hour buckets. Only players are counted that reached monster mode. Monster mode usually takes at least half an hour to activate. I plan on having a happy hour with higher payouts on Saturdays at 6PM UTC, encouraging players to play together at the same time. The above chart shows number of onchain transactions generated by the faucet address per block. The chart starts at 1 March and ends at the start of October. 8448 onchain transactions generated in this period. see address: bitcoincash:qphh2t0dlx0hhfrcsw39xrrd9ywmswy8fgl5ztl4zfsee the following link for more charts: wiki charts Future Plans (not part of this fundme campaign)Long-term, simply giving away BCH isn’t sustainable. To address this, I plan to gradually integrate CashTokens into gameplay. Here are some of the ideas on the roadmap:Pokemon-style gameplay - The ability to convert game items into tokens to trade with other players (as cashtokens on external dapps) or to release back into the game world.bugs.cash CashToken drops – earnable items that might hold value because of the “proof of play” required to obtain them. I could also drop discount tokens for third party projects.Equippable CashTokens – for example, equipping a “BCH Guru” token might grant +2 health when equipped.Advertising on more platforms – The small playerbase has helped a lot with testing ideas and gameplay and getting the game running smoothly. In future I plan on focussing more on advertising the game Proof of Workbugs.cash is live, running, and already distributing BCH to players.
